VH Pallot and Sons Ltd began in 1976, specifically to cater for the upkeep of the Island’s trees. Today, the company delivers efficient, ‘value for money’ tree surgery, hedge trimming (inc. branchage) and landscape and garden maintenance services.
VH Pallot is a family firm that is firmly rooted in the centre of the Island. The company employs ten staff who are all experienced and qualified (to NPTC standard) and are overseen by the Director of the firm John Pallot and Manager Nathan Shambrook.
VH Pallot and Sons still remains a small-sized firm with Nathan Shambrook overlooking the work and John Pallot still heavily involved especially in the fencing. John Pallot’s direct oversight of all work undertaken and 25 years experience ensures that we continue to offer a personal service and that our customers’ requirements are always fully met. This is evident by our loyal and diverse customer base, with much of our work deriving from word of mouth recommendations.
We benefit from over 45 years’ experience in all types of tree work, including:
- Preventative Tree surgery (we are committed to preserving the Island’s trees rather than felling)
- Tree Felling (our specialty is safely dismantling of trees in difficult/confined spaces using pullies and ropes)

We are committed to operating to best practice guidelines and use an extensive range of up to date machinery. This includes woodchippers (offering the recycling of wood), various stump grinders, tractors, varied chain saws and hedge trimmers as well as much more. Machinery to access high areas (such as Hiabs) are hired when required.
At VH Pallot and Sons we are also committed to operating in a safe and responsible manner. As such, we place high importance on the health and safety of our staff and the public and the protection and safeguarding of the island’s unique environment. This enables us to proudly say that we have not experienced a major health/safety incident.
Every job is fully risk assessed. We liaise with the customer to keep them fully briefed and informed of the work in progress. On completion of the work, John and Nathan personally telephone customers to ensure that everything is to their full satisfaction.
All staff are available on 24-hour call out. John and Nathan are contactable via mobile 24/7. The call-out system involves an assessment of the situation and contacting and mobilising relevant and skilled staff members. John or Nathan usually attends these personally in order to evaluate the work (relating to safety or any special requirements).
